The Stewart Family History

The earliest currently known Stewart ancestor in my family was John Stewart, born in Philadelphia PA between 1750-1755 (wife unknown). He migrated to Nicholas, Braxton Co., WV, where he died abt. 1833. The Braxton/Nicholas Co. areas in WV still contain the greatest density of my paternal relatives.

Virginia Mildred (Stewart) Brady (1912-2000)

"Aunt Virginia" was the youngest of the eight children of John Taylor Stewart (1864-1926) and Mary L. Friend (1868-1933). I was lucky enough to record a conversation I had with Aunt Virginia circa 1998 during a trip with my parents and wife through West Virginia. It was a long conversation that was recorded in two parts in which she discussed life in general and the Stewart family in particular.
